Description: this garnet-red wine with hints of violet has a complex bouquet reminiscent of cherries, liquorice and dried fruit, all distinguishing this elegant wine. It is smooth round on the palate, with agreeable acidity: its finish is forceful and persistent. This wine has good aging potential.

Food pairing: game, game birds, meat dishes and hard cheeses

Grape varieties: 100% Merlot

Vineyard location: sites in Margreid and southeast-facing hillside vineyards in Kurtatsch (210 m - 380 m a.s.l.)

Soil: chalk gravel moraine soil in Kurtatsch, sandy, alluvial soil in the plain of Margreid

Training system: guyot; 6,000 – 7,000 vines / hectare

Yield: 65 - 70 hl / hectare

Vinification: fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks; malolactic fermentation and maturation in large and small oak casks for 8 months

Barrels: stainless steel tank, large and small oak cask

Serving suggestions: 17 - 18 °C
