Pietra Filosofale is a rosé wine, made with the king of red grapes from Abruzzo. Slender sip, red fruits and flavor. Perfect to pair with aperitifs, starters and second courses based on fish.

Tasting notes and pairings

The Pietra Filosofale rosé wine from the Alchimia Cantina Urbana winery is obtained from red grapes vinified without contact with the skins. The Alchimia winery is located in San Giovanni Teatino, in Abruzzo.

Matteo Cacciagrano, the owner producer, decides to open his own business after a period as a wine merchant and collaborator with various Italian and Spanish winemakers.

Cacciagrano buys the grapes with which it produces its natural wines from small farmers who follow the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture and therefore do not use any chemical treatments for their vineyards.

The grapes with which Pietra Filosofale is produced come from Pratola Peligna, a small town in the province of L'Aquila. The vines here grow on predominantly calcareous soils and enjoy strong temperature variations, allies in the development of large, fine and elegant aromatic bouquets.

Pietra Filosofale is a rosé wine obtained from the most typical red grape variety of Abruzzo vinified without contact with the skins.

After the grapes have been harvested, in fact, they are pressed directly and racked immediately, in order to extract a minimal quantity of anthocyanins and produce a pink juice.

The fermentation of this wine is spontaneous, that is, it occurs without the addition of selected yeasts.

The wine then matures in fiberglass tanks for six months and before bottling it is neither filtered nor clarified nor added with sulfur dioxide.

Pietra Filosofale presents itself in the glass with a pale pink color. The bouquet of this rosé is composed of aromas of cherry and small red fruits. Finally, on the palate, thanks to the floral and fruity sensations it releases, it is like a real explosion of fruit that is extremely easy to drink.

Alchimia's rosé is perfect for the entire meal, but gives its best when enjoyed as an aperitif or in the company of mixed fish dishes. One bottle will certainly not be enough for you.
