Holy wine
The production of Vinsanto in Tuscany, and in the Chianti Classico area, dates back at least to medieval times. Vinsanto Tenute Marchese Antinori is produced according to the dictates of tradition and a strict disciplinary, with selected Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes that are dried in a natural way, a method that requires time and patience, and which give life to an intense and very pleasant wine for its its richness of aromas and its softness on the palate.

Vinification
The grapes, coming exclusively from the vineyards of the Antinori estates located in the Chianti Classico area, have been carefully selected and collected in crates; subsequently they were arranged manually on the special mats of the Tenuta di Tignanello drying room or on the penzane of Tenuta Pèppoli (mobile frames where the bunches are hung in suspension). The grapes, left to dry until the end of December, were then softly pressed in order to maintain the organoleptic and aromatic characteristics. The must obtained was introduced into the typical caratelli, produced with different essences of wood and with a variable capacity between 50 and 200 litres, where the long and slow alcoholic fermentation took place, then interrupted. The wine remained in the barrels for about 3 years and was then blended to be finally bottled.

Historical data
The production of Vinsanto in Tuscany dates back at least to medieval times: it is considered a true regional specialty and the Antinori family has always produced it too. However, the first vintage of Vinsanto Tenute Marchese Antinori (vinsanto of 'natural' production) was 1987.

Tasting notes
Amber in color with golden reflections, Vinsanto Marchese Antinori 2018 presents itself to the nose with delicate hints of chestnut flour, dried fruit, figs and candied bitter orange peel. On the palate it is refined, soft and characterized by excellent freshness. On the finish, notes of cocoa powder and amaretto stand out.
