NAME: Rosso di Montalcino DOC.

VARIETIES: 100% Sangiovese.

SOIL: More alluvial soils with traces of calcareous marl.

ALTITUDE: From 280 to 310 meters above sea level. VINEYARDS: From 22 to 12 years. TRAINING SYSTEM: Spurred cordon, organic farming.

VINTAGE: The winter season was quite mild with infrequent rains but which guaranteed a good reserve, the very placid month of March brought bud break about a week earlier. An unexpected frost in April and a fairly hot summer put the vineyards to the test, which responded very actively thanks to the good agricultural techniques implemented. Thanks to these, the vines showed great strength and had energy to overcome the summer drought, keeping their physiological functions active and allowing constant and correct maturation. During the summer, despite the daytime heat, very interesting night-time temperature variations were recorded which ensured fantastic quality of the grapes, allowing the formation of clusters with perfect veraison, concentrated and very healthy.

HARVEST: 12 -20 September.

VINIFICATION: Cold pre-fermentative maceration, spontaneous fermentation and maceration on the skins for 10 days in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Sangiovese selected to preserve freshness and fruity profile.

AGING: French and Slavonian oak barrels (10-50 hl) for approximately 9 months.

TASTING NOTES: Lively ruby red, with aromas of cherry, red berries and great salinity surrounded by notes of Mediterranean scrub. On the palate it is fresh, direct with integrated tannins and strong flavor.
