Barbera d'Alba DOC is a typical wine of our areas, the queen of the Langhe tables. We chose vinification in steel only to underline its fruity notes. This Barbera is presented on the market in the spring following the harvest.

Soil type: medium texture, tending towards calcareous.

First year of production: 1896.

Vinification and ageing: ferments for 10-12 days in stainless steel at temperatures around 30°C. This is followed by malolactic fermentation and a short refinement in stainless steel; it is usually bottled and put on the market in the spring of the year following the thousandth of production.

Notes: thanks to careful sorting, excellent exposure and very low yields, high quality grapes are obtained which give very complex wines. With this product we want to propose the typical nature of traditional Barbera: intriguing freshness, good body and a long finish.

Tasting characteristics

At sight: intense purplish red.

On the nose: elegant, sweet and captivating, the intense and fruity notes characteristic of Barbera emerge.

On the palate: vinous, fresh and well balanced. It is an easy wine to drink and not excessively demanding but at the same time tasty and rich. It is advisable to drink it at a temperature of 18-20°C. It pairs perfectly with Langhe cuisine and generally very tasty dishes. Excellent with pasta, rice and soups, braised or grilled red meats and medium-aged cheeses. Also perfect as an aperitif glass with appetizers and cold cuts.
