Ron Matusalem Gran Reserva: is a rum produced from sugar cane molasses aged 15 years with the solera method; it is therefore a mixture (blend) of rum from different vintages whose maximum aging is precisely 15/23 years. Until 1959 in Cuba the Matusalem was exclusively the Gran Reserva Metodo Solera 15 years. Although much more expensive than competitors, it held 50% market share. Defined as the "Cognac of the Ron" was, (see Chicago Herald Tribune 21 March 1947) the preferred Ron by Hemingway with which the mythical writer prepared his Cuba Libre, the Great Cuba Libre. In 1999 the Hard Rock Cafe, the trendiest music bar in the world, now present in the five continents, decided to revive the Gran Cuba Libre by inserting it in the 10 ROCKOLICIOUS Cocktails. The last 20 years have seen in Italy the emergence of Cuba Libre fashion with Havana 7; what is the next step?
