6 BOTTLES X 75cl

Classification: Barbera d'Alba DOC

Variety: Barbera 100%

Origin and Soil: Vineyards in the area of Barbaresco, Treiso, Alba and Barolo. Originated by strong marine currents in the Mycenaean era, they are sandy and clayey terrain.

Tasting notes: Ruby red with violet reflections. Vinacious, floral (pink) aroma of ripe fruit with spicy notes due to the passage in wood. Full and harmonious flavor. Being a very versatile wine and given its roundness, it blends well with a wide variety of dishes, such as fried or boiled Piedmontese.

Serve at a temperature of 16 ° C.

Climate: After the month of January and the first part of February, characterized by mild temperatures and low precipitation, in March there was abundant rainfall that provided a good water reserve on the ground. The late cold generated a delay in the vegetative recovery that could be estimated around ten days for all varieties. This delay lasted until the end of summer, but began slowly but developed until the end of September. The 2016 vintage was certainly one of the longest in terms of durability in recent years and began with Arneis and Dolcetto on September 12 and continued without stops until mid-October with Nebbiolo.

Good vintage for Dolcetto, Barbera has long enjoyed good weather to acquire a good sugar content, however well supported by good acidity. Nebbiolo's harvest began to overlap with that of Barbera, and it came without any problems to complete maturity both from the technological and the phenological points of view. Vinification: The grapes are healthy, with a good balance of all the different components (sugars, acids and polyphenols). The grapes were pressed and diraspata. The maceration lasted about 5-7 days at a temperature of 28/30 ° C. Malolactic fermentation ended in mid-December. Wines from different vineyards were assembled in spring and bottled.
