BIOGRAPHY
A UNIQUE ARTIST
For the 2025 Holidays, Dom Pérignon collaborates with artist Takashi Murakami to create two
limited editions: one featuring Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 and one featuring the new Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage
2010. Born in 1962 in Tokyo, Takashi Murakami is a contemporary Japanese artist known for his
vibrant, anime-inspired paintings and sculptures. With his unmistakable visual language,
"Superflat," he reinterprets the codes of traditional Japanese art through the lens of contemporary
culture.
His works often feature recurring motifs such as two-dimensional images of flowers, mushrooms, and Mr.
Dob, exploring themes such as consumerism, globalization, and the postwar Japanese experience.
Along with other iconic creators, Murakami was featured in Dom
Pérignon's latest advertising campaign, "Creation is an eternal journey," launched in May 2025.
The Vintage
With the lowest temperatures since 1996, the first part of the year was a stark contrast to the
rest of the decade. Winter frosts and a cool spring were reminiscent of the vineyard's latitude. The hot—though not excessively so—summer and scarce rainfall made
the year particularly dry.
Suddenly, everything changed in mid-August: in two days, as much rain fell as
it does in two months. With the heat and rainfall, ripening was rapid and generous, but the
harvest began with botrytis, which affected the Pinot Noir grapes.
As in 1995, the grapes achieved an intense balance between sweetness and acidity, but it was
necessary to abandon some plots and subject others to careful selection to bring out
the best of a vintage rich in contrasts.
On the nose and on the palate
The fruit of a complex and extremely demanding harvest, Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage
2010 reveals a surprising balance on the palate: finely powerful, dense and delicate, ample and
decisive. Everything seems to blend harmoniously, in a perfect mastery of contrasts.
