HARVEST DIARY
The winter of 2022 was distinguished by unusually mild
and dry weather, a trend that also continued through the
spring months. At the end of March, slightly later than the previous
year, the vines began to bud,
inaugurating a growing season that saw
a rapid and concentrated flowering, mainly
in the second half of May. The lack of rainfall
in the early months of the year had a two-fold impact on the vintage:
it favored excellent grape health, protecting them
from disease, and required the vines to have a greater ability
to adapt, particularly on thin soils.
From mid-June, the summer became
markedly hot, with high temperatures.
The rains, though rare, arrived at the most opportune times: those of July 28th and 29th, in particular,
helped restore the soil's water balance, supporting
the continuation of ripening.
The vine continued its cycle without interruption,
displaying green and vital canopies, a sign of vegetative health that remained excellent until the harvest.
The 2022 harvest began early, on August 8th,
favored by a drop in temperatures that
preserved the freshness and aromatic finesse of the grapes.
It concluded on August 24th, at the end of a season that
required attention and interpretative sensitivity, but which
rewarded the most balanced vineyards – especially the
maturest ones, whose roots, sinking deep,
found precious resources to support the plant in the
driest periods.
The result is a vintage of great elegance and structure, capable
of coherently expressing a territory that knows the strength
of resilience and the harmony of natural balance.
