WHY IS DIFFERENT
Sgrappa was born from a memory of the child Maurizio Cattelan, currently the most provocative of Italian artists. The memory is that of his father in Padua who distilled grappa "clandestinely" in a pressure cooker. For the production of Sgrappa, the pomace from red grapes, with the fundamental contribution of a percentage of Nebbiolo from Barolo, is processed with small discontinuous steam jet copper stills, to obtain phlegm, which will then be passed into a modern column. grinding to obtain maximum cleanliness to the nose.

Suitable for all needs, Sgrappa is a modern, versatile grappa that can be consumed smooth, in good company, but reaches its maximum expression when mixed with "Sgrappa Tonic" tonic water or "Fuck you on the beach" pink grapefruit juice. as the new trends of this distillate indicate.

With an irreverent character, as the artistic gesture inserted in the bottle declares, it is a versatile "spirit", ideal for drinking outside the rules.

"Sgrappa for me is an 'excuse' to remember my father", says Maurizio Cattelan. “He loved drinking grappa and produced it for himself at home. He took a pressure cooker - the only one we had, so in those days with my mother and my sister we knew we would eat half of it - and showered us with this strong smell. Over the years I started drinking it too, but not his, which was really terrible. Sgrappa is a way to remember him, but ultimately also a challenge to improve his undrinkable grappa. I think I succeeded with Paolo and Charley, if he were still around, he wouldn't like Sgrappa at all ”.

The spirit of Sgrappa emerges with disruptive humor even in the design of the bottle: Cattelan unexpectedly contaminates it with his visionary style by inserting an incontrovertible and ironic artistic gesture inside. It is his signature, but also a declaration of the identity of the product, outside the box and a little rebellious.

Sgrappa, handcrafted in Piedmont, is a grappa with a strong spirit, but only in appearance. The pomace from red grapes, moist and rich in aromas, is processed with small discontinuous steam jet copper stills, to obtain phlegm, which is then passed into a modern rectification column to obtain maximum cleanliness on the nose.

In the glass, flavors of fruit and white flowers are found, but the finish is straightforward, where the raw material, the grape skins, emerges delicately.

On the palate this grappa confirms its nature, with an excellent correspondence of the aromas, and an elegant finish of raisins. With a clean and light taste, it invites you to take a second sip, almost necessary to fully appreciate its characteristics.
