Do Armatore ready-made sauces contain preservatives, colorings, or thickeners?
No. All our ready-made sauces—Tuna Bolognese, Tuna Genovese, Seafood Puttanesca, and Anchovy Marinara—are completely natural. We use no preservatives, colorings, or artificial thickeners: only genuine, high-quality ingredients.
How are ready-made sauces preserved without the addition of preservatives?
Thanks to an innovative thermal sterilization process, our sauces naturally keep for a long time. This method guarantees food safety and freshness without the need for chemical additives.
What type of fish is used in Armatore sauces?
We use only select Mediterranean fish: tuna for our Tuna Bolognese and Tuna Genovese, and salted anchovies for our Marinara and Puttanesca, always handcrafted according to coastal tradition.
What makes Tuna Bolognese unique compared to a traditional ragù?
Tuna Bolognese is a lighter, more Mediterranean version of the classic ragù: instead of meat, we use Mediterranean tuna, paired with tomatoes, fresh vegetables, and extra virgin olive oil.
Does Tuna Genovese follow the traditional Neapolitan recipe?
Yes. Tuna Genovese is inspired by the original Neapolitan recipe, but reinterpreted with Mediterranean tuna and anchovy sauce. Slow cooking and natural ingredients create an intense, enveloping flavor.
Is Seafood Puttanesca different from the classic puttanesca?
Our Puttanesca di Mare uses yellow cherry tomatoes, Mediterranean tuna, salted anchovies, olives, capers, and anchovy sauce: a unique version that highlights the authentic flavors of the sea with a gourmet touch.
What ingredients characterize Marinara alle Alici?
It's a simple and rich Mediterranean sauce: tomato, salted anchovies (20%), capers, extra virgin olive oil, anchovy sauce, garlic, and oregano. A recipe that celebrates seafood tradition with a contemporary twist.
Are Armatore sauces ready to use?
Yes, simply open the jar and gently heat the contents. They're ideal for directly seasoning pasta, crostini, rice, or to enhance gourmet dishes without any additional preparation.
How long do Armatore ready-made sauces last?
Thanks to the heat sterilization process, the sauces maintain their quality and flavor for many months. Simply store them in a cool, dry place. Once opened, they should be consumed within a few days.
