WHY IS IT DIFFERENT
Chartreuse Noix is made with green walnut husks, harvested strictly on the night of Saint John, June 24th, according to monastic tradition. Maceration takes place in wine alcohol, making this ancient French nocino.
HOW TO DRINK IT
It pairs well on the rocks with dry pastries and dried fruit tarts.
FOCUS
It's no coincidence that the Pères Chartreux produce a walnut-based liqueur: Voiron and Aiguenoire, like the Grande Chartreuse, are located at the foot of the French Alps in Haute-Savoie, very close to Grenoble. And it is precisely in the valley floor near Grenoble that walnuts are grown. This is where one of France's first protected geographical indications was born: that of the Grenoble walnut. The specification was filed in 1938.
