Appearance: pale gold.

Smell: delicate at first, then maritime scents, salt crystals, algae and fresh sea breeze are introduced. As the senses adapt, a very mild smoke appears, along with perceptions of olive oil and citrus notes of lemon.

Body: medium.

Palate: The texture is soft and creamy, while the fruity notes of the Amontillado barrels bring a sweetness reminiscent of plum and violet.

The fruity scents are mitigated by spicy aromas and sapidity.

The addition of water softens the taste, taming the spicy aromas without altering the balance between flavors. Finish: Quite long and surprisingly peppery with a maritime aftertaste.

According to our legend, a light ascended into a pitch-black sky above Oban, led by a mythological being.

It was a lively creature coming from the stars and rained down from the sky in an explosion of purple light, which spread over the Oban distillery.

The surrounding land was illuminated with plum hues, infusing Oban with an unearthly sweetness rarely seen.

On an autumn night in Oban Bay, the dancing lights of the Aurora Borealis illuminate this quaint coastal town and its eponymous distillery, which is one of the oldest and one of the smallest in Scotland, established in 1794.

However small it may be, its nature is legendary and recognized for centuries. Aging in refill and new American oak barrels, and a double aging in ex Sherry & Amontillado barrels, bring hints of a delicate sea breeze to the nose.

The creamy texture introduces sweet aromas of plum to the wine, balanced by a certain flavor and spicy notes. A rich sweetness shines between the light smoke and its tanginess, creating an Oban with a supernatural character.
