On 15 January 1885 GioBatta Poli decided to move from San Luca, a small village on the Asiago Plateau, to Schiavon, in the plain, where he opened the Osteria al Cappello and where he continued to sell wine and straw hats, a family business.

A short time later, the long-awaited steam train, pleasantly called "Vaca mora", finally arrived in front of the tavern.

The passengers waited for the Vaca Mora in the tavern, chatting and sipping a glass of wine or a drop of that bitter prepared by infusing herbs, fruit peels and roots. Sometimes the train driver would also come in...

A few drops later, in 1898, the Poli Distilleries arose in the premises of the tavern.

Poli Vaca Mora Riserva - Amaro Veneto is an officinal style bitter, obtained by infusing herbs, peels and roots with strong digestive properties, including cinnamon, coriander, peppermint, hyssop, chamomile, orris, angelica, aril mace, lemon balm, Hops, China, Absinthe, Calamus, Bitter Orange, Cardamom and Blood Orange.

The patient permanence in the underground cellars of the Poli Distilleries gives the Vaca Mora Riserva bitters an additional note of depth and spice.

The first 125 years of Poli Distillerie
To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Poli Distilleries, the Poli family presented a limited edition of 4,125 numbered bottles of Vaca Mora Riserva.
