The wine
Brunello la Fuga perfectly reflects the territory in which it was born. In the historic district of Camigliano, in fact, the south-west exposure towards the Tyrrhenian Sea and the soils rich in sediment enrich the Sangiovese of Tenuta la Fuga with polyphenols which rise thanks to the long refinements in 25hl oak barrels. When tasted it is enveloping and engaging as only Brunello can be.

The 2018 vintage presents itself on the nose with hints of berries, orange peel, flowers and cedar but also walnut and wet leaves. On the palate it is full-bodied with firm, velvety tannins and a juicy texture. The persistence is long and the taste is concentrated. Perfect harmony between olfactory and gustatory profile.

The territory
Tenuta La Fuga is located in the historic district of Camigliano south-west of Montalcino. The proximity to the Tyrrhenian Sea, the soils rich in fossils resulting from the lands that emerged in the Pliocene era and the sediments of the now extinct volcano Monte Amiata characterize the Sangiovese cultivated for the production of Brunello, giving softness, power, depth and elegance.

The Vineyards
Sangiovese Grosso, called Brunello in the municipality of Montalcino, is the clone dedicated to the production of the three denominations Rosso, Brunello and Riserva. The bunch is medium sized, winged and compact with a medium and compact berry. The pedoclimatic characteristics of this side of Montalcino contribute to making the Brunello from Tenuta la Fuga a harmonious, mineral wine with superior persistence.

The Estate
This estate, owned by the Folonari family since 2001, is the smallest of the family group with 9.8 hectares of vineyards and approximately 2 hectares of olive grove. The vineyards of Tenuta la Fuga are divided into three parcels ranging from an average age of around 30 years to the youngest of 10 years. The farmhouse is spread over three levels: in the basement there is the winemaking cellar, on the intermediate level the barrel cellar while on the first floor the farmhouse with the terrace overlooking the surrounding panorama.
