The Barbera vine is well rooted in Piedmont, and finds its most elegant expression in the Alba area, where it was imported from Asti in the 1600s.
Traditionally a "table" wine, a few decades ago with a rustic and not very prestigious image, recently it has had an important improvement in quality obtained through more accurate winemaking processes and selection of grapes, to the point of being able to compete from an organoleptic point of view with wines much more noble.
The name Bajet indicates in the local dialect the young conscript soldier, a symbol of the typical vitality of youth, in a ready-to-drink wine.
VINTAGE PROFILE
The spring frosts, which also partly affected our vineyards, caused a
decline in production.
The rest of the season, quite hot and
drought, led to an excellent
ripening of the grapes at the time of harvesting, thanks also to the water reserves accumulated with the winter snowfalls.
The vintage is rated 4 stars,
close to excellence in quality.
