1 BOTTIGLIA DA 70cl - 18% vol.

Civico 10, or Via Roma 10 in the municipality of Piobesi d’Alba, is the address of the original historic headquarters of the Sibona Distillery. It was here that the original recipe of this Vermouth was elaborated with passion and wisdom, then perfected in recent times and enriched using only Nebbiolo d’Alba D.O.C. as a wine.

Among the herbs and spices stand out the Piedmontese mugwort, sweet and bitter orange, vanilla and gentian. Excellent with ice, as an aperitif and a fundamental ingredient for creating cocktails.

Vermouth is a flavored wine, invented in Turin in 1786 by Antonio Benedetto Carpano.
Since the end of the eighteenth century, Vermouth was drunk in the cafes of Turin. Also known as Vermut, Vermutte or Vèrmot in Piedmontese, it owes its name to the German word Wermut, which means mugwort. Mugwort is one of the aromatic herbs used in a mixture of spices that soothe the flavor of the wine used as a base.

The aromas traditionally used for Vermouth derive from leaves or plants (among others mugwort, wormwood, holy thistle and lemon balm), flowers (chamomile and elderberry), fruits (star anise and cardamom), roots (calamus, gentian and ginger), peel (orange, cinchona and cinnamon), wood (quassia) and aloe juice.

There are three main types of Vermouth: white, red and rosé. In addition to the color, the taste also determines a further classification (sweet, dry, extra dry and chinato). Protagonist since the early days of legendary cocktails, such as Negroni, invented in Florence in 1919, Vermouth is also excellent straight. It is also an extraordinary ingredient in the kitchen to flavor roast meats.
