The most prized part of the little tuna, tender and flavorful, hand-processed and preserved in olive oil. A seafood delicacy.
The belly is the softest, most succulent, and delicate part of the fish: in our case, selected from little tuna caught in the Mediterranean, processed entirely by hand, and preserved in high-quality olive oil.
The Mediterranean Tuna Belly is a true delicacy, prized for its buttery texture and intense yet balanced flavor. Each piece is hand-cut to preserve the integrity of the fibers and offer an uncompromising taste experience.
Perfect served on its own, with seasonal vegetables, on warm crostoni, or paired with fresh, delicate ingredients. Ideal for those who love gourmet seafood, but with simple, authentic ingredients.
What is the 4Rotte line and why was it created?
4Rotte is the ARMATORE line dedicated to promoting Mediterranean fish species that are often forgotten or undervalued. It was created with the aim of giving dignity and prominence to noble yet little-known fish, present in our seas and fished sustainably. A project that combines taste, tradition, and awareness, bringing authentic varieties such as mackerel, bonito, little tunny, frigate mackerel, albacore tuna, swordfish, and amberjack to the table.
Where do the fish in Armatore's 4ROTTE line come from?
All fish come exclusively from the Mediterranean Sea, FAO zone 37, caught according to the seasons and marine biodiversity.
How are the canned fish processed?
The fillets are selected and processed individually by hand, delicately steamed or boiled, then preserved in olive oil or plain.
What's the difference between the various species (mackerel, bonito, little tuna, amberjack, frigate mackerel, swordfish)?
Each species has a different flavor, texture, and lipid content. Mackerel is more bold, amberjack more delicate, bonito intense, albacore elegant, swordfish meaty, frigate mackerel more rustic, and little tuna balanced. The belly, on the other hand, is the most prized and tender.
What's the difference between the product in oil and the natural one?
The fillets in oil are more flavorful and preserved in pure olive oil. The natural ones maintain a lighter flavor and are ideal for those following a low-fat diet.
What type of oil does ARMATORE use?
We use exclusively high-quality olive oil, which enhances the flavor of the fish without overpowering it.
How are these fillets used in cooking?
They are ready to use: ideal for salads, pasta, gourmet sandwiches, appetizers, or as a main course. Fast and healthy.
Do ARMATORE products contain preservatives?
No. All our products are free of preservatives and chemical additives. They contain only fish, salt (if applicable), and olive oil or water.
How long do the products last once opened?
After opening, it's best to store them in the refrigerator, well covered with their own oil or liquid, and consume them within 3–4 days.
