Delicate albacore tuna fillets, hand-prepared and preserved in olive oil. Marine elegance, refined flavor, artisanal quality.
The albacore tuna (Thunnus alalunga) is a prized species of tuna, recognizable by its pale, tender flesh and delicate flavor. Caught in the Mediterranean and processed according to tradition, it is carefully selected to offer a high-quality product, intended for those seeking excellent preserved foods.
Our albacore tuna fillets in olive oil are hand-prepared and immersed in premium olive oil, which enhances their flavor without overpowering it. Perfect for refined appetizers, light salads, seafood first courses, or enjoyed on their own, with good bread and little else.
A noble, sustainable, and surprising product: the elegance of the sea enclosed in a jar.
What is the 4Rotte line and why was it created?
4Rotte is the ARMATORE line dedicated to promoting often forgotten or undervalued Mediterranean fish species. It was created with the aim of giving dignity and prominence to noble yet little-known fish, present in our seas and fished sustainably. A project that combines taste, tradition, and awareness, bringing authentic varieties such as mackerel, bonito, little tunny, frigate mackerel, albacore tuna, swordfish, and amberjack to the table.
Where do the fish in Armatore's 4ROTTE line come from?
All fish come exclusively from the Mediterranean Sea, FAO zone 37, caught according to the seasons and marine biodiversity.
How are the canned fish processed?
The fillets are selected and processed individually by hand, delicately steamed or boiled, then preserved in olive oil or plain.
What's the difference between the various species (mackerel, bonito, little tuna, amberjack, frigate mackerel, swordfish)?
Each species has a different flavor, texture, and lipid content. Mackerel is more bold, amberjack more delicate, bonito intense, albacore elegant, swordfish meaty, frigate mackerel more rustic, and little tuna balanced. The belly, on the other hand, is the most prized and tender.
What's the difference between the product in oil and the natural one?
The fillets in oil are more flavorful and preserved in pure olive oil. The natural ones maintain a lighter flavor and are ideal for those following a low-fat diet.
What type of oil does ARMATORE use?
We use exclusively high-quality olive oil, which enhances the flavor of the fish without overpowering it.
How are these fillets used in cooking?
They are ready to use: ideal for salads, pasta, gourmet sandwiches, appetizers, or as a main course. Fast and healthy.
Do ARMATORE products contain preservatives?
No. All our products are free of preservatives and chemical additives. They contain only fish, salt (if applicable), and olive oil or water.
How long do the products last once opened?
After opening, it's best to store them in the refrigerator, well covered with their own oil or liquid, and consume them within 3–4 days.
