In the 19th century, Collio was written COGLIO, BRDA in Slovenian, and CUEI in Friulian. During the Austro-Hungarian period, it was known as In den Ecken. The word means hill, and according to the regulations, the vineyards must be located on the hillside and on our soil: the 'ponka'. Our family has cultivated 12 hectares of vineyards on this soil for over 300 years.
