Baptiste & Charles Ponsard is a young, independent winemaking company located in Janvry, in the Marne Valley of Champagne. The project began in 2016 with the Ponsard brothers' desire to develop a small family vineyard, transforming a cooperative legacy into an independent, artisanal winemaking operation.

The winery works on approximately 2–8 hectares of fragmented vineyards, spread between Janvry and Germigny, in a mosaic of parcels immersed in an agricultural ecosystem rich in woodlands and fruit trees.

The production philosophy is that of the contemporary Champagne grower: respectful viticulture (no herbicides, sustainable approach), manual harvesting, and minimally interventionist vinification. In the cellar, they favor spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, aging in stainless steel and especially in wood (barriques and demi-muids), with minimal or no filtration.

The style of the cuvées is closely linked to the Marne Valley terroir, with a strong presence of Pinot Meunier, complemented by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The wines are generally Extra Brut, taut and precise, with a flavor signature that combines energy, structure, and minerality.

In recent years, the house has completed a journey of greater production autonomy, consolidating a clear identity: artisanal, pure, and vibrant Champagnes that directly express the character of each individual parcel.

In summary

Baptiste & Charles Ponsard represents the new generation of Champagne winemakers: a small, independent production that focuses on terroir, minimalism in the cellar, and authenticity, producing modern, taut, and highly expressive Champagnes.
