Appearance: Brilliant gold with ruby reflections.

Nose: Full-bodied, savory, the notes evoke a cassoulet with white beans, tomatoes, spicy sausage and crispy pork belly. Intriguing aromas of grapes and red wine intertwine with its classic fleshiness and becomes, as the nose develops, more mineral. With the addition of water, the sensations change, mitigating the spicy hints and bringing to light a more rounded flavor, with hints of wine and red fruit.

Body: medium to full.

Palate: a full-bodied texture, while the taste is sweetly fruity rather than meaty, with a spice given by the virgin oak barrels. The variety of these notes combine with hints of ginger. The addition of water shapes the taste that is harmonious with a strong combination of fruity and spicy hints.

Final: Long and persistent, the hints of fruit and black pepper are in perfect harmony, hints of spice for the whole palate. Finally, the palate dries up. The addition of water adds a pinch of acidity.

According to our legend, one night the moon turned blood red in the Mortlach sky and then a magic happened.

The Beast of Dufftown transformed under the bloody glow and flew into the night sky, becoming a mythological creature, drawn to the sky by the blood-red moon.

Inside the stills of Mortlach, the influence of this Moon echoed: its seductive richness and its dark complexity transformed Mortlach himself giving him a unique and enchanted nature.

Nestled in its dark and historic valley, Mortlach has long attracted enthusiasts with his deep and magnetic character. Even what happens in the distillery has something magical: the whiskey is distilled 2.81 times in six stills arranged in a pattern not found elsewhere. Part science, part mystery.

Bold and enigmatic. With hints of ruby, this legendary whiskey is aged with a combination of virgin oak barrels, Tawny Port and Red Muscat. Intense aromas of wine and sweet grapes intertwine with the renowned Mortlach fleshiness.

With an intense and sweetly fruity flavor, we find hints of spiced ginger derived from part of the aging that takes place in virgin oak barrels.
