Production Area
The Piz Rosé Pinot Noir comes from the Pinot Noir vineyards located at the highest altitudes of the Girlan Winery, between 550 and 650 meters above sea level. The name "Piz" comes from the Ladin dialect and means "peak," a clear reference to this wine's Alpine origins. The vineyards, predominantly east-facing, favor slow ripening and give the rosé its bright salmon-pink color and pronounced Alpine freshness.
Winery
The grapes are selectively harvested by hand and transported to the winery in small crates. After destemming, the presses are gently filled by gravity. The must remains in contact with the skins for only a few hours to extract a pale color and refined fruity aromas. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks on the fine lees, without malolactic fermentation, to preserve freshness and tension. Bottling takes place in the spring of the following year.
Tasting Notes and Serving Suggestions
In the glass, Piz Rosé Pinot Noir displays a luminous salmon pink. The bouquet is elegant and clear, with notes of fresh redcurrant, raspberry, and cranberry. On the palate, it is balanced and harmonious, supported by lively acidity and a pleasant lightness. An ideal aperitif and the perfect companion for summer days, it pairs very versatilely with fish appetizers, light Mediterranean dishes, and fine cuisine.
