Grape variety: Timorasso
Sterpi is made from local grapes grown on a land that was once solely a brushwood crop. The dedication, passion, and quality of Vigneti Massa have elevated this wine to such prominence that it is now considered among the finest Piedmontese whites.
Walter Massa, who first brought this grape variety, almost completely extinct in the pre-phylloxera massacre, back to life in the late 1990s, always envisioned a free and natural wine. All fermentations are initiated with indigenous yeasts. The wine is left on its fine lees for a period that, in some cases, extends up to a year. Over the years, Timorasso has proven its ability to withstand long aging, and this Sterpi was created to reveal its finest qualities after a few years in the bottle.
The winemaking process involves maceration on the skins, fermentation, maturation, and aging; the result is a white wine rich in freshness and flavor.
Its straw yellow color embellished with golden reflections opens on the palate with pleasant floral notes of acacia, fruity hints and citrus aftertastes.
