Contraste #3 Extra Brut by Paul Launois is a Blanc de Noirs Champagne of great precision and identity, born in the heart of the Vallée de l’Ardre, a Champagne region characterized by clay-limestone soils and a strong vocation for Pinot Meunier.
This cuvée is made from 100% Pinot Meunier, sourced from select parcels on hillsides that benefit from a cool microclimate and rich soils, ideal for expressing tension, fruit, and varietal character. The wine is vinified using an artisanal approach, fermenting in stainless steel and partially in wood, followed by aging on the lees to enhance its complexity and structure.
In the glass, it displays a bright golden yellow color and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, elegant aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, ripe citrus, and white flowers emerge, accompanied by light notes of brioche, bread crust, and a mineral, chalky nuance.
On the palate, it is taut and vibrant: the attack is direct and fresh, with a nice energy provided by the Pinot Meunier. The structure is balanced, with a creamy texture and an Extra Brut dosage that keeps the palate dry, pure, and precise. The finish is long, savory, and slightly salty, with great aromatic definition.
A contemporary and territorial Champagne that authentically expresses the richness of the Vallée de l’Ardre through an elegant, dynamic, and gastronomic style.
