Castel Grumello, owned by the De Piro family since the fourteenth century, is a twin fortress consisting of two separate structures, once joined by a wall overlooking the hill planted with Nebbiolo delle Alpi.
Hence the name of this wine, a blend of grapes from the two estate vineyards located in the Grumello area. In vintages where the less pronounced tannins suggest a brief aging in large barrels, Valtellina Superiore Grumello Rocca De Piro DOCG surprises with its rapid drinkability. And when it makes its debut on the table, it always presents itself promptly: ready to drink, but also excellent for cellaring among the reserves.
