A careful selection of the best Grand Crus of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, only from the first pressing, and an aging period of 5 years in the cellar, give this champagne a perfect balance of tension and aromatic strength. Taittinger's Prélude Grands Crus cuvee is made up of a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir selected by Taittinger from Grand Cru vineyards with 100% Champagne classification. This composition oscillates between the vibrant minerality of the Chardonnay and the aromatic intensity of the Pinot Noir. Aged for more than 5 years in the cellars, Prélude retains a remarkable freshness, the result of a combination of refinement and complexity. The pale yellow sparkling robe with silver accents indicates the high proportion of Chardonnay. The delicate effervescence gives life to a creamy and persistent perlage. Subtle and fresh on the nose. The initial mineral scent quickly turns into herbaceous, with a combination of elderflower and spicy notes of cinnamon. On the palate it is clean and vibrant, dominated by citrus notes. Subsequently it develops its fullness, becoming round and silky and revealing the aroma of white peach in syrup. The conclusion is long, rich and explosive. The Prélude Grand Cru cuvee can be enjoyed as an aperitif and proves to be a perfect accompaniment to classic fish dishes. Originally produced only in magnum format in 2000 for the new millennium, Prélude is now also available in the standard bottle format. Five years ago, in a nod to its origins, a limited edition of this cuvee was produced in magnum format.
