For these wines, the Franciacorta Cuvée Prestige Edition bears the title "R.S." which literally means "Recently Disgorged."

125 Chardonnay vineyards, with an average age of 21 years, located in the municipalities of Erbusco, Adro, Cazzago San Martino, Corte Franca, Iseo, and Passirano.

3 Pinot Blanc vineyards, with an average age of 28 years, located in the municipality of Passirano.

21 Pinot Noir vineyards, with an average age of 21 years, located in the municipalities of Erbusco, Provaglio d'Iseo, and Passirano.

2014. A non-winter winter, almost a very long autumn, brought us to the first stages of the growing season about ten days early. Budbreak occurred regularly.

Weather conditions throughout May and into the first half of June were favorable,

with little rain, above-average temperatures, and a stronger early phenological development. But then everything changed: starting in the third ten days of June, we no longer saw high pressure, and the weather was dominated by continuous Atlantic fronts. Between July and August, more than 400 mm of rain fell, temperatures were consistently colder than normal, and the vines

gradually slowed down; they reached harvest time with foliage weakened by the bad weather.

The harvest began on August 14th with the Pinot Noir, followed by the Chardonnay harvest. This is a Franciacorta vintage, thanks above all to the Chardonnay, whose rusticity has allowed us to produce Franciacortas that are whole, taut, and surprisingly elegant.

Average estate yield per hectare: 8,500 kilograms of grapes, equivalent to 5,360 liters of wine (must-to-fruit ratio: 63%).

Winery

The base wines of the Cuvée Prestige are the result of careful grape selection and expert vinification conducted in full compliance with the Ca' del Bosco Method.

The grapes, hand-picked into small crates, are classified and chilled. Each bunch of grapes is selected by expert eyes and hands,

and then benefits from an exclusive "berry spa." A special system for washing and hydromassaging the bunches, using three soaking tanks and a drying tunnel. After pressing in the absence of oxygen,

all the musts for the base wines ferment in temperature-controlled steel tanks and remain there until the following March. A further seven months of aging are necessary for the wine to clarify,

mature, and fully bring out the character of the vineyards of origin. The wines are then expertly blended in the "magic ritual" of creating the cuvée. At least 10 years in contact with the lees are

required to be labeled "R.S." (Recently Disgorged). This unique distinction allows one to fully enjoy the complexity and refinement typical of wines aged for a long time on the lees, without sacrificing the freshness of a recently disgorged Franciacorta. Disgorgement occurs in the absence of oxygen, using a unique system, designed and patented by Ca' del Bosco. This prevents oxidative stress and the need for additional sulfites. This makes our Franciacortas purer, more enjoyable, and longer-lived. Finally, each

bottle is uniquely marked to ensure traceability.
