A mild winter with little snowfall was followed by an equally mild and very dry spring. Fortunately, frequent rains arrived in May, keeping temperatures low and replenishing water reserves that had been depleted to alarming levels. The relatively low temperatures of April and May also slightly delayed the vines' flowering.
In the subsequent summer months of June and July, rainfall was more than sufficient, but precisely because of this, the vineyards were exposed to fungal attacks of powdery mildew and downy mildew. However, thanks to the winemakers' extensive experience and targeted interventions, significant harvest losses were avoided. In August, a period of scorching heat slightly slowed the ripening of the grapes, but after some heavy rainfall toward the end of the month, the final days of summer benefited from stable weather, especially in the second half of September. These favorable factors resulted in a good harvest, which began on September 4th with the Sauvignon Blanc.
The 2023 vintage is characterized by its fresh and very fruity wines, with a slightly lower alcohol content, and can be classified as good to excellent.
