1 BOTTLE X 150cl.
60% vol.
This 7-year-old Hampden is part of the third edition of the now legendary Magnum series, created in 2021 by Luca Gargano, with the aim of bringing together the great masters of rum with the great photographers of the Magnum agency, founded in 1947 by legends such as Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson.
For its third edition, the collection arrives in the Trelawny region of Jamaica, in the heart of the Hampden distillery, famous since 1753 for its aromatic and complex rums, produced using ancestral fermentation and distillation methods. In 2009, ownership passed to the Hussey family, who began a new chapter in the distillery's history by aging rum on site for the first time, in Jamaica's tropical climate.
This rum was distilled in 2018 and comes from the HGML brand.
Hampden and Cristina de Middel: a winning duo for the Magnum series
Like the first two, the third edition of the Magnum series aims to offer a range of rum expressions, born from the same raw material yet completely different.
After the first series, accompanied by images by Elliott Erwitt, and the second, which pays homage to the work of Alex Webb, this year Cristina de Middel, a Spanish photographer and outgoing president of Magnum, was invited by La Maison & Velier to spend a week in an artist residency in the world of Hampden. Four of the photographs taken during her stay were selected to adorn the labels of the third edition of the Magnum series.
The Hampden HGML 7-Year-Old Magnum is accompanied by an image Cristina de Middel has called "Junjo": a Jamaican slang word referring to mold or fungi that grow on surfaces such as fabrics, floors, and walls.
