Focus
The new release from Hampden Estate bears the year of its founding in its name. Hampden 1753 is naturally crafted based on the pillars that have made the distillery legendary:
• the use of ultra-pure water from a spring just a few kilometers from the estate, in the heart of Cockpit Country, used to dilute the molasses arriving from the Long Pond sugar mill;
• spontaneous fermentation, triggered by indigenous yeasts that ferment for very long periods, generating the esters responsible for the distinctive final aroma;
• distillation, which lasts approximately seven hours, in six copper double-retort pot stills sourced from all over the world, one of which dates back to 1960;
• tropical aging, and finally, the complete absence of added sugars or colorings. This is a production method passed down through the centuries, one of the most authentic in the world of rum;
This new release joins the core range of official Hampden bottlings, alongside the 8 Year Old and the HCLF Classic Overproof.
