Don Papa Rye Aged Rum combines all the rich and sweet character of Filipino rum with the magic and poetry of the Prohibition era.

Most of the whiskeys produced in the United States in the 1920s were predominantly rye, i.e. whiskey in which the predominant component was rye.

After the release of the first Bourbons, sweeter and more usable by the general public, the rye experienced a period of decline due to its complexity and higher body.

Today, rye whiskey is finally back in the limelight thanks to the interest of whiskey lovers and experts from all over the world and the proliferation of craft distilleries in the USA.

This golden colored rum comes straight from the unique mix of green and lush fields of the United States and the Filipino sea breeze.

Don Papa rum with its sweet notes of molasses called "black gold", is aged in barrels that previously contained American rye whiskey, giving the rum spicy, vegetal and intense notes.

The final result is a new velvety and complex rum: DON PAPA RYE AGED RUM.

Column-distilled, the rum is immediately aged in rye whiskey barrels with no intermediate steps.

It spends 4 years in warehouses on the slopes of Mount Kanlaon then it is bottled.

The effect of the high temperatures recorded on the Negros island influences aging: the wood releases its scents in a marked way and the rum gains in depth and gradation.

The nose shows dry and spicy notes that open towards honey and pepper with a very delicate finish and surprisingly tending to apple.
