Wabi Gin is made at the Tsunuki site, in the far south of Japan. Juniper and coriander seeds form the base of gin. To these are added nine botanicals harvested in Kagoshima Prefecture, including kumquats harvested in Kaseda-Tsuniky, home of the distillery. The profile is completed by green tea leaves, ginger, cinnamon leaves, yuzu and «Hetsuka» bitter orange. The botanicals are divided into two groups and left to macerate before being distilled with a hybrid still. Juniper berries are also added to the botanical basket for an intense, balsamic profile.

Profile: The nose is spicy and soft with notes of ginger and juniper. Herbaceous and citric, the palate is characterized by hints of Kumquat and spices. The finish is long and fresh with citric and bitter notes.

The main feature of Mars, which explains the complex and refined character of its spirits, are the two distilleries and three aging sites it has, located in different regions of the country with very different climates. The first historic distillery, Shinshu, is located in the heart of the Japanese Alps, at the foot of the Komagatake mountain which gives its name to the single malt series. Located 800 meters above sea level, in winter temperatures reach -15 degrees. The second distillery, Tsunuki is located in the south of the country. The main difference compared to Shinshu lies in the shape of the stills, here in the shape of an onion, which gives a stronger character to the whisky. The climate is hotter and more humid. The third aging site is located on the island of Yakushima, characterized by a tropical and rainy climate. Here the angel's share is very high, and the aging more intense.
