The Biondi-Santi Brunello di Montalcino is the first Brunello in history and for 150 years has embodied the vision that

inspired Clemente Santi in the 19th century when he created his first expression. Today, as then, it is a

distinct wine, with a complex and refined personality.

THE 2019 VINTAGE

A rainy and generally cool spring led to slow bud growth and late flowering, followed by

a rather hot and dry June and July. Around mid-July, north winds managed to cool temperatures

for a few days, also thanks to the help of a refreshing thunderstorm. August was hot and dry, with some rain at the

end of the month, providing ideal conditions for ripening during the days leading up to the harvest. The harvest

began on September 14th.

THE ORIGIN

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino was produced using a careful selection of grapes from the estate's vineyards.

THE AGING

The 2019 Brunello was vinified in both oak barrels and concrete and steel tanks, using exclusively indigenous yeasts

from our vineyards. It was then aged for 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels.

THE EMOTION

From an exceptional vintage—with perfect weather conditions throughout the year—a smooth and

harmonious Brunello di Montalcino, which opens with inviting aromas of classic cherry, berries, violet flowers, dark spices, and refreshing hints of

broken bay leaves and juniper. The palate is classy and extremely elegant, with sensations of morello cherry and orange zest. The bright

acidity provides balance and great tension, while the tannins are velvety and enveloping, providing a burst of energy on the finish. A fantastic

wine, enjoyable immediately and sure to provide years of pleasure.
